Cambria Automobiles

goes private!

The management buyout of Cambria Automobiles was successful at £0.825 per share. I had bought it at £0.80 per share 4 months ago so the gains are negligible (3%).

You can find the Press Release here.

And you can read my previous write-ups on Cambria here.

On the one hand, I’m happy that I parked my cash in an operation that offered promise of good reward with little downside.

On the other hand, the whole buyout process was dirty and it served me to learn that the law and rules of management buyouts in the UK are designed to benefit the big guys, not the small investors.

As I don’t want to become a shareholder of the private company, I’m selling the entire position of Cambria Automobiles as soon as possible.

I say as soon as possible because it looks like the stock has stopped trading, and in order to sell one must go through the broker.

According to the rules, we’ve got 14 days left to sell, starting tomorrow.

I’ve sent an email to DeGiro asking them how to proceed from here.  When I get an answer I will let you know.
